5. Request a Hoya Gateway Meeting. Start doing some research now. Find alumni in your hometown, or check out the stellar DC area alumni and make a meeting request for the week before finals begin. Remember, it’s important to create a diverse professional network, so don’t be afraid to reach out to people outside of your area of interest.
3. Join the Georgetown University Alumni group on LinkedIn to join the conversation. The LinkedIn group is 20,000+ members strong, and a great place to stay apprised of opportunities to help you stay connected when you leave the Hilltop.
2. Give back to your community. Volunteer your time or run a Turkey Trot 5K – networking doesn’t always take place when you’re wearing business casual! You never know who you might meet. Wear a Georgetown t-shirt for an easy conversation starter.
1. Take time to you relax and enjoy time with your family and friends. Watch football. Indulge in delicious food. Ask your family about their career paths. Instigating career conversations and networking often leads to second and third degree connections.
